The Annual Creative Journeys Award: Celebrating Creativity in Our Community
The Creative Journeys Award is an annual celebration created to recognise imagination, dedication and creative expression within our community. The award gives emerging creators an opportunity to share their work, while every award category celebrates a different creative journey. We want each award to encourage people to keep creating, and every award winner to know that their ideas and efforts have been recognised.
One of the most important parts of the Creative Journeys Award is making creativity accessible across generations. That is why every category includes both an Under 18's Award and an Adult Award. Each award provides an opportunity for people at different stages of life to participate. An award for a young creator can encourage a lifelong passion, while an adult award recognises that creativity can continue developing throughout our lives.
Ten Creative Categories
Every year, the Creative Journeys Award celebrates ten different areas of creativity. Each award category allows entrants to demonstrate their individual talents, while another award may recognise an entirely different form of expression. Together, every award contributes to a diverse celebration, ensuring the overall award program represents creativity in many forms.

With an Under 18's division and Adult division for each category, there are 20 winners celebrated each year. Every award represents more than simply winning a competition. The award recognises someone's willingness to create and share something with others. Receiving an award can become an important milestone, while entering the award can itself be part of someone's creative journey.
Community Voting and Volunteer Judges
Choosing our winners is designed to bring the community into the celebration. The Creative Journeys Award combines community voting with a volunteer judging panel. The community component of the award allows people to discover and support entrants, while the judging component of the award provides another perspective. Our volunteers help review entries so that each award is considered carefully and the final award results reflect both community participation and thoughtful assessment.
Public voting can take place through heats when categories attract large numbers of entries. This allows each award entrant an opportunity to be seen without overwhelming voters. Successful entrants can progress through the award process toward the final stage. The volunteer panel then plays an important role in helping determine the award winners alongside the community vote, creating an award system built around participation and consideration.
An Annual Awards Ceremony
At the end of each year's competition, we want to bring everyone together for the Creative Journeys Award ceremony. The award ceremony is our opportunity to move beyond online voting and celebrate creativity face-to-face. Every award winner will be invited to receive their trophy, while the award presentations provide a special moment for winners, families and supporters. The award ceremony also gives our community an opportunity to recognise the people who helped make the event possible.
The celebration will include trophy presentations, speeches and recognition of our winners, volunteers, collaborators and supporters. Each award presentation tells a story about creativity, while every award speech provides an opportunity to reflect on achievement and community. We hope an award trophy becomes a lasting reminder of that achievement and that the annual award ceremony becomes something our creative community looks forward to each year.
